Beaver Solitaire
The Solitaire was a 45-foot, tag-axle coach that SMC introduced in the third quarter of 1999 on a Magnum monocoque chassis, aimed at buyers of luxury bus conversions. SMC called it a limited-production model to be built at its Beaver plant in Bend, Oregon, but listed it under its own name, apart from the Beaver models. SMC's 1999 report priced it at $672,000 to $699,000, the highest range in that report, and its 2000 report at $729,000 to $757,000.

About this model
SMC's 1999 annual report called the Solitaire by far the most luxurious product SMC made, with features like those of luxury buses that sold for more than $1 million. It said the coach was a limited-production model that would be built at the Beaver plant. Both the 1999 and 2000 reports list the Solitaire under its own heading, separate from the Beaver models, and still call the Marquis the top of the Beaver line. One member of the Beaver Ambassador Club lists the Solitaire as a Beaver model, above the Marquis, and says only a few were made.
Monaco Coach Corporation bought SMC in August 2001. The Solitaire does not appear in Monaco's annual report filed in March 2002. No brochure or owner's manual for the Solitaire was found, so this family has no model-year records.
