About this model
SMC's annual reports say the Patriot was introduced in 1992 on a chassis from an outside vendor. The Beaver Ambassador Club holds factory wiring diagrams for 1993 to 1995 Patriots on a Spartan chassis with a Cummins engine. A long-time club member lists the Patriot at $162,000 to $193,000 for 1993 and $168,000 to $198,000 for 1994, the lowest prices in that member's lists.
In July 1995 SMC introduced the 1996 Patriot on its new Magnum B-Series chassis. After the Marquis moved upmarket in 1997, SMC said the Patriot filled the place the Marquis used to hold. Buyers could add the Thunder option, a 425-horsepower engine with a heavy-duty transmission. SMC's price range for the Patriot grew from $200,000 to $250,000 (report for 1996) to $247,000 to $346,000 (report for 2000).
Monaco's annual reports list the Patriot at $255,000 to $355,000 (filed March 2002), $310,000 to $360,000 (filed 2003 and 2004) and $350,000 to $410,000 (filed March 2005). A buyer's guide lists sixteen 2006 Patriot floorplans, 40 to 44 feet by name, from $348,000 to $391,002. The four specification pages checked show a Roadmaster S-Series chassis and a 400-horsepower Caterpillar C9 engine, with a 525-horsepower Caterpillar C13 as an option.
