About this model
Tiffin's company history says the 1990s saw the rise of some of its best-known models, including the Phaeton, but it does not give the first model year.
The 2005 brochure, the oldest in Tiffin's online library, shows five floorplans from 35.5 to about 40.5 feet on a Freightliner raised-rail chassis with a 350-horsepower Caterpillar engine.
For the 2024 model year the 450-horsepower Cummins L9 became standard on every floorplan. That year's brochure lists a PowerGlide XSH chassis or a Freightliner XCR chassis depending on floorplan. From 2025 the specification sheets name a Freightliner PowerGlide XC raised-rail chassis for all four floorplans.
For 2027 Tiffin lists a Bob Tiffin Limited Edition Phaeton, limited to 84 coaches, in the 40 RTH and 44 RTH floorplans.
