About this model
A company article written after November 2006 says Marathon's coaches were built on Prevost H3-45 and XLII shells. The 1,200th Marathon, reported in an undated MotorHome magazine item, was an H3-45 with a single salon slide. It was fitted out as an Executive/VIP coach with seven leather recliners in the salon and a meeting room at the rear.
RV.com published a review of a quad-slide H3-45 in December 2020. It had a Volvo D13 engine rated at 500 horsepower, an Allison six-speed transmission, a 20 kW generator and an as-tested price of $2,433,569. The slide-outs were made and installed by Valid Slide Co. of British Columbia.
In February 2023 Marathon showed coach #1375, a double-slide coach it said was the first luxury RV finished on Prevost's redesigned H3-45. RVBusiness gave its MSRP as $2,989,929, and a listing from Marathon's sales centers names it a 2024 model. Another listing from Marathon's sales centers shows coach #1397, a 2025 double slide with a 20 kW Kohler generator.
