Foretravel IH-45

The IH-45 was Foretravel's flagship from the early 2010s to 2020. Foretravel also wrote the name as ih-45. MotorHome magazine called it the company's first complete redesign in 25 years and said the name refers to Iron Horse, a nod to Lyle Reed's railroad career. It was offered in 40-, 42- and 45-foot lengths on Foretravel's TravelRide chassis with a 600-horsepower Cummins ISX, and moved to a Spartan-built chassis for 2018.

About this model

MotorHome magazine tested a four-slide IH 45 on the TravelRide II chassis with a 600-horsepower Cummins ISX, 1,950 lb-ft of torque, an Allison 4000MHR transmission and a 20-kilowatt generator. The magazine listed a base price of $1,175,000 and a price as tested of $1,201,370. The archived article does not show its date or the model year of the test coach, so that price is not attached to a model year here.

The owner-club history says the IH45 line was introduced in 2010, while the club's model lineage lists it under 2011. Foretravel's own archive covers the model from the 2012 product guide to the 2020 product guide. The owner-club archive records 2017 as the last year of the Foretravel-built TravelRide II chassis and 2020 as the last year of the IH-45.
